Removing wisdom teeth at an early age (15-17) may significantly reduce the surgical complications that can occur during third molar extraction. Impacted wisdom teeth sometimes grow in and push against the second molar, while other times the teeth barely break through the gums. In some cases, their presence can go unnoticed because they are trapped beneath the gum and jawbone.
